In this video, I walk through building a generative melody sequencer in Bitwig's Grid using probability logic and a custom recording system. The patch cycles through notes in a chosen scale, applies adjustable probabilities per note, and uses sample and hold to create evolving melodies. I also demonstrate how to record and loop these generated sequences in sync with the transport bar to get more structured, repeatable patterns.

- Poly Grid Setup: - Uses a sine oscillator with amplitude envelope. - A Pitches module stores notes (e.g., D# minor scale, 7 notes used).
- Probabilistic Note Selection: - A clock signal scans through stored notes. - A Probabilities module assigns likelihood to each note. - Sample and Hold selects and holds pitches based on probability match.
- Sound Shaping: - Added saw wave, low-pass filter, and reverb/delay for tonal variation.
- Recording Logic: - Uses latch and phase comparator to trigger and stop recording at bar start/end. - Clock One Ties module ensures recording starts exactly at bar start. - Notes are recorded, not audio, for accurate MIDI-style playback.
- Playback Logic: - Playback is synced and looped using a trigger that lasts one bar.
- Extra Features: - Added octave shift with a 33% chance for variation. - Optional white noise + sample and hold for modulating other parameters. - Automatic sequence regeneration every 32 bars via transport-based trigger.
