Just nature. So in this patch I tried to recreate animals or like a meadow vibe. Basically I’m building a little stream, a bunch of bees and birds, some distant car noises, and of course crickets chirping and stuff.

So yeah, it’s a whole nature scene synthesized entirely from oscillators, no samples at all... and it’s generative. That means it never really repeats, it’s all based on randomness like most of my patches.

I think it turned out pretty decent, and I’ll probably keep tweaking it... especially the binaural stereo side of things so it sounds even more realistic. But for a first attempt, I’m pretty happy with how it came out.

Gotta admit, I kinda lost control here. Some modules don’t really make sense, and in a few spots I’ve got no clue what’s going on. But hey, it sounds good :D I think to create pads in the Grid you really only need one oscillator and then shape the rest with all-pass delays as reverb.

Once you play in different notes, it ends up sounding pretty solid. This time there are also a few effect sounds coming from modulated delays, plus some little “bubble” sounds for a more organic vibe.

In the end, the Grid patch isn’t as complex as some of my previous ones, but it’s nice to listen to and does exactly what it’s supposed to. As always, you can download the patch for Bitwig for free from me!

Alright, here I made another static pad using multiple sine oscillators. of course, everything’s heavily modulated. The rest are sound effects that play sporadically and based on chance. You always have to balance how dense you make the atmosphere, though. It can get annoying or overwhelming pretty fast if there’s constantly some sound popping up everywhere or if it’s chirping and ringing on every corner. This time I also messed around a lot with all-pass delays and even got an idea for a tutorial out of it. I think there’s a lot to learn there about which parameters actually do what. Delay and feedback are such a great topic... there’s really a ton hidden in those values. Anyway, I think it turned out to be a pretty cool patch that creates a nice “alone in the city at night” cyberpunk vibe. It also responds to Bitwig 6’s global scale features, so you can just set whatever scale you want and the patch will follow it.

I took the old idea from the previous video and pushed it a bit further. The raindrops and wind sounds create a really nice vibe, and they’re made entirely from noise and filter movements, they actually make up most of the patch. The rest I filled out with some drones and a random noise generator. One part of the patch generates raindrops, but when the resonance goes up, it almost starts sounding like a melody since I’m quantizing the frequencies to the current global scale. Anyway, it’s a total CPU killer, but it ends up being super chill to listen to... kind of feels like a rainy night in some futuristic city.

Rainy city at night! This time I’m using different oscillators again for pads & lead sounds. On top of that there’s a lot of generated synth rain with droplets and noise. For one synth I even built your random step sequencer that re-randomizes itself every few beats. It turned out more like an atmosphere than a full track again, but it works great as an backdrop.

Press the "Generate" Button twice to generate new percussions in all cells. Uses the Poly Grid to randomly fill cells with synth percussion sounds. Great for filling out drum patterns. For more information, watch the video.

Many all-pass delays create maximum reverb on all sounds. This should create a nice atmosphere with some random sounds. The Markov Generator creates notes in specific sequences, and this is used for a sine bleep. The big all-pass delay chain does the heavy lifting, creating a big, lush ambience. There is also a bunch of saw oscillators creating a root + 4th + 5th chord drone. I also recycled an old FX generator and fed it into an additional all-pass delay network, then randomized the buffer size on a mod delay for crazy artifacts. Everything then goes through all-pass and mod delays again to glue it together with the rest of the sounds. A soundtrack for a future of endless self-management. Dedicated to modern work ethics, where freedom becomes pressure and even stillness feels like labor.

A custom ambient reverb built entirely with Bitwig stock devices. It combines Blur, Delay+, Chorus and Convolution to create long evolving tails, subtle pitch movement, shimmer-like textures and spacious hybrid reverb sounds.

I tried to use as few sound sources as possible for the pad and relied mainly on all-pass filters to stretch the sound and make it behave like a pad, even though it’s just a sine bleep every few seconds. With this, I can play harmonies using only a single oscillator, triggering multiple notes at once. There’s also a deep bass, some random FX shots, and an arp sequence playing now and then. The filtered noise kind of simulates rain and adds a bit more atmosphere.

In this generative preset, I create pad sounds using an arpeggiator that I smear with a lot of Alpha delays, so it sounds like a pad even though it’s really just an arpeggiator. Plus, there are some random sounds, a few sequences that fade out, and a random bass line. That’s it!

Hey everyone! I’ve got a new generative patch I made in Bitwig. This time, it’s a bit more sequenced, which means I’m using Transport Modules to time certain events, like when the drums kick in. I also added a new sweep that’s timed with the Transport Module. I’ve incorporated some old patches from other generative setups too. There’s a bass line, some pads, a melody, and overall, it’s turned out to be a bit bigger. It does put a good load on the CPU, but I had a blast putting it all together. Hope you have fun taking it apart or messing around with it!

For the patch, I recorded my own vocals, of course, all nicely processed with reverb and packed them into the sampler. I also added some water sounds that I generate with filters. There are water droplets too, so it all kind of reminds me of a cave system on some alien planet. I kept the atmosphere pretty static, meaning there aren't many melodies or anything like that. It’s mostly interrupted by little sound effects like the water drops and some randomized sounds. But I think it creates a really cohesive vibe, and if someone wants, they can easily layer some sounds or melodies on top to give it a bit more meaning in a musical context. I just thought the atmosphere was pretty cool.

Alright, in this Bitwig Grid patch, I tried to create some ambient vibes using a bunch of different voices and synthesis types. Of course, there's an arpeggio in there too, and I reused the effect generator from the patch before last because I thought it fit really well and adds a nice depth to the atmosphere. Other than that, there's nothing too special, just several synthesizers playing different voices, all randomly randomized, which creates this whole complex vibe.

Alright, in this Bitwig Grid patch, I tried to randomly generate a new track every 32/16 bars. It's all based on randomness noise generators, so it's basically a Melodic Techno track generator (sort of).

Four-band dynamics with upward + downward compression, per-band clipping. Works on Windows, macOS, and Linux in VST3, CLAP, and LV2. It's like OTT but louder 😂

Some pads and leads were generated in the grid. There are some random FX, as well as wind and rain. I also turned up the resonance on the wind filter to create a Blade Runner-style flat hum. Make sure to change your global key and mode to E♭ minor or something similar.

This generative grid creates pad sounds, little bleeps, a bass line, drums, kicks, snares, and the snare sounds a bit like a rimshot (phaser+), and yeah, it’s all more or less generative. You can draw your own melody in the Scrawl oscillator up top, and then it behaves totally differently.
